OXALIKA PRO Cordless Vaporizer

Oxalik acid vaporizer, battery powered, cordless. Runs on 18-volt lithium-ion batteries (not included). It heats up in just 2 minutes and is ready for sublimation.

The number of treatments you can do with a battery depends on the capacity of the battery. With a 5Ah battery, about 40 2-gram treatments can be made if the sublimator is cold and about 50 if it is already hot.

It is available in two versions:

SPRINT model (with spring plunger): is the basic model with a rapid dosing system consisting of an adjustable spring plunger. The adjustment allows the dose to be set from 1 to 4 grams by simply turning the knob.

At the end of the treatment, the plunger is pulled out, pressed onto the oxalic acid powder and inserted into the seat, and the knob is pressed on. The acid falls off and sublimation begins. If you treat with 2 grams of oxalic acid, after 25 seconds you repeat the cycle.

With use, the spring plunger becomes very hot and appropriate gloves should be worn.

Smart model (with spring plunger and Smart Valve): this is the easiest to use and best performing model. The spring plunger remains cold, you use it only to insert the dose on the appropriate cavity located at the top of the Smart valve. This can be done during sublimation, thus without losing time between sublimations.

Battery protection: Both models have a built-in system that turns off the sublimator when it detects that the battery is low by protecting it from overdischarge (an overdischarged battery cannot be recharged and becomes unusable). An indicator light will indicate the status of the battery: it will be lit green if the battery is charged and will turn red when the battery is almost completely discharged and the device is about to turn off.

Interchangeable tube: in just a few steps you can replace the diffuser tube, choosing the one that best suits your treatment. With the “S” curved tube you will be able to easily deal from the flight hatch. Instead, with the 90-degree curved tube you will be able to treat from above using the hole for the feeder. With the straight tube you can treat the hives by drilling a hole in the back side of the hive or the back side of the inverted inner cover. The tubes are made of high-strength copper and are all included with the sublimator.

Anchor bracket: the anchor bracket is included and improves the stability of the sublimator in treatments from the flight opening.

Anticorodal aluminum boiler with internally accessible and unobstructed sublimation chamber (patent pending).

Aluminum ensures more even temperature distribution without the formation of “hot spots” and “cold spots.” The accessible sublimation chamber allows for thorough cleaning necessary to keep the sublimator efficient after many uses.

How does the temperature control system in the OXALIKA PRO Cordless model work?

The temperature control system uses a platinum temperature probe built into the boiler. The system is designed and manufactured entirely in Italy with first-rate components for specific use in oxalic acid sublimators. All those functions found in normal temperature controllers that would be unnecessary in a vaporizer but would make its use more complicated and more likely to fail have been eliminated. Therefore, operation is very simple: by pressing the + and – buttons, you can set the desired temperature. Since this is a control system designed specifically for use with sublimators, it is impossible to set a temperature higher than 240°C (464°F), and this prevents the end user from setting a temperature too high that would damage the bees and the sublimator itself. The control is very precise, and overheating beyond the set value is limited to 2-3 °C.

Can the temperature also be displayed in degrees Fahrenheit?

Sure. Holding down the – button for 5 seconds will switch to the temperature unit change mode, and the display will show a C or F depending on whether the unit in Centigrade or Fahrenheit is selected. At this point to switch from one to the other, simply press the + key, and after about 10 seconds since the last selection, the sublimator will begin to display the temperature in the selected unit of measure. Usually when the product leaves the factory it has the temperature unit set according to the customer’s country.

Will a model with LiIon batteries but no display and circuit be released for sale?

Lithium battery management presents complexities that necessarily require the use of a control circuit to prevent the battery from over-discharging. In fact, lithium-ion batteries, if over-discharged, become very dangerous to recharge and the respective chargers, sensing that the battery is too low, will “refuse” to recharge it. Therefore, the battery becomes unusable.
